Vermont Pie & Pasta Company welcomes you to its restaurant located on Route 5 in Derby, Vermont. We are a friends and family oriented business with great food that will satisfy your whole crew and great atmosphere to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. We have a real wood-fired oven to cook our pizzas and a full bar service.
Our story began in 1996 with Hoagies Pizza & Pasta, a small 60 seat family style restaurant in Newport Vermont. On a shoe string budget with 8 employees we embarked on a hand-forged journey of relentless obstacles and tremendous opportunities.
In 2004, we broke away from the North East Kingdom locations and opened our very own in Lyndonville, Vermont. We had exuded all of our time and energy into learning what was necessary to operate a restaurant, so we pounced on the opportunity. Believe us when we say “all of our time and energy;” successful restaurants don’t happen overnight! It takes stolid dedication, stubborn determination, continuous patience, and also great employees.
Another great opportunity was birthed in 2007 in Morrisville, Vermont. We opened the newest Hoagie’s Pizza and Pasta. We’ve spent considerable time and energy on fine-tuning new aspects to the Hoagies concept such as a full bar with great local craft beer and spirits, char-grilled food, and a game room for hosting fun parties.
One of our greatest opportunities came in the winter of 2011 in Derby Vermont, the crowning of the Vermont Pie & Pasta Company concept. It was vital for us to differentiate from Hoagie’s Pizza & Pasta while maintaining the same level of confidence from our customers. The vision for Vermont Pie & Pasta Company seemed simple. Bring in fresh Vermont ingredients, prepare clean and flavorful dishes, then serve them by caring people in a comfortable environment where customers enjoy the great company just as much as the great food.
